What plans should I make if I want to move to London?

My best friend and I want to move to London, for a year after we graduate. (We are in 10th grade). We already know we need to start saving a lot of money, but what are some official plans we need to make before we move? Any tips, information, or websites would help. Thanks a ton.

It is good that you are planning way ahead. If you are Americans, you can stay in England (U.K.) legally for 6 months without a visa, but cannot work. If you want to stay longer, you need to apply for a visa. it is extremely difficult to get a work visa for the U.K. See 2nd site to read about visas. You may consider applying for a student visa. London is extremely expensive, so you will need a lot of savings. There is something else that you might be interested in. There are some countries that have what are called working holiday agreements with other countries. The only ones the U.S. has one with are Australia and New Zealand. You are allowed to travel and work there for up to one year. Gives you the chance to experience another country. See 34d and 45h sites below.
