Ok, so I am starting to move, in fact I should be packing right now. It is REALLY stressful. Seriously. Especially with finals coming up soon. So, I have no idea how I am supposed to pack. Should I just throw things into boxes in certain categories? Move from one thing to the next? And how can I help relieve a little bit of the moving stress. PLEASE HELP ME!!
Thanks!
Moving is stressful…been there too many times myself.
For myself, the better organized I am, the easier the move. I pack each room in its own boxes, clearly labeled so that when I get to my new place, the boxes can be put where they belong. I also mark each of the boxes with a brief list of contents. Keeping the most important items packed separately helps as well…so that you can get to your necessities with minimal effort. [Since you are approaching finals, it's really important to make sure you can get to the things you need without having to unpack every box. Keep all school related items together.]
Plan ahead to make sure you can take care of yourself as you move….get plenty of rest, make sure you drink enough water, and have some healthy, easy to fix food items available.
And breathe! If you feel the stress taking hold, relax and take several deep, even breaths. Don’t let the stress take over.

You are right, moving is stressful. The best way to pack is to pack each room individually. Create one bag or box for things you will need up to the move or on the move day; for example, tooth paste, medicine, some clothes, etc. Make sure to mark each box, with the contents and where you want it to go in your new home.
Second, a common mistake is to use large moving boxes for your move, but the problem with that is by the time they are full they are too heavy to lift without straining your back. So make sure to use small moving boxes for heaving things, and large moving boxes for light things like pillows.
Lastly, try to allow more time then you need for your move, as invariably things will come up that you didn’t anticipate. You can find a moving check-list here. http://www.movingdayboxes.com/moving-boxes-checklist.php
Good Luck!
